A mythical couple repeats for the second consecutive year at the 70 Rally Motul Costa Brava: Jacques Alméras and his co-driver “Tilber”, at the wheel of a Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.0. The Alméras surname is closely linked to the Rally Costa Brava since in 1980 one of its Porsche 911 won it with Antonio Zanini at the wheel.

The Alméras brothers are also an institution in the mythical Montseny hillclimb, with Jean-Marie and Jacques Alméras always in podium positions with their spectacular Porsches, including the unforgettable 935 Silhouette.

Jacques, 73 years old, is the youngest of the famous brothers from Montpellier, he has been European Hillclimb Champion three times and has also an extensive record in rallying since he made his debut as Jean-Marie’s co-driver in the seat of a Peugeot 204 in the Critérium des Cévennes in 1967. Very soon the “Alméras Frères” label became famous for its fabulous structure competing and triumphing in all kinds of competitions.

Jacques Alméras stood out for his repeated successes in the Tour Auto (2nd in 1973 and 3rd in 1976), in the Ronde Cévenole (1st in 1977) and in the Critérium des Cévennes (1st in 1981, among other podiums). His best WRC result is 4th in the 1978 Tour de Corse.

The history of “Tilber” (Christian Gilbert), 71, is as impressive or more impressive than that of his pilot, since he has accompanied the main French figures: Guy Fréquelin (with whom he was French Champion in 1985), Saby, Andruet, Nicolas, Béguin, Delecour, Clarr, Vincent, Chatriot, Cudini, Ballet, even Ari Vatanen and a long etcetera

In 2021 Jacques Alméras-“Tilber” celebrated 40 years of his triumph at the Critérium des Cévennes by participating in the 69 Rally Costa Brava. They were so delighted that they repeat. The fans will reward them with their best ovation.
